What this site collects
Two layers, and only one of them asks you first. We would rather spell out both than hide the quiet one.
Head count — no consent asked. Cloudflare Web Analytics runs on every page. It sets no cookies, writes nothing to your device, and builds no profile that follows you anywhere. It records that a page was viewed, which page, where the link came from, and how fast it loaded — nothing that singles you out. Because it cannot identify you, it runs without a banner, and it is how we know whether anyone is actually reading this. See Cloudflare Web Analytics.
Behaviour — consent required. Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-X3EZHE1Z1D) is not loaded until you accept the banner. Accept, and it sets cookies and reports page views, clicks on outbound links, calendar downloads and pick buttons to Google. We use it to learn which pages are useful. If you decline — or ignore the banner — no request to Google is made at all. You can change your choice any time via the COOKIES link in the footer.
What Google does with it
Google processes analytics data as our processor; see Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses data from partner sites. We have not enabled advertising features, remarketing or data sharing beyond defaults.
What stays on your device
Your picks (WITH/AGAINST) and your consent choice live in your browser’s localStorage. They never leave your device unless you accepted analytics, in which case the pick event (not your identity) is counted.
What we don’t do
No accounts, no email collection (yet — if a newsletter ships it will be opt-in with its own notice), no ads, no selling or sharing of data, no fingerprinting.
Your choices
Decline the banner; or clear localStorage and cookies for this domain at any time. EU/UK visitors: consent is the legal basis for Google Analytics, and you may withdraw it via the COOKIES link or by clearing site data. The Cloudflare head count has no opt-out button because there is nothing attached to you to switch off — no cookie, no identifier, no cross-site profile. If that distinction matters to you, block static.cloudflareinsights.com in your browser and the count simply misses you.
